Senara is developing cell-cultivated milk: genuine dairy milk produced directly from real cow cells that are multiplied in state-of-the-art bioreactors, without conventional dairy farming. The resulting milk is A2-protein rich, lactose-free, and produced with a significantly smaller ecological footprint than conventional dairy, combining a sustainability proposition with a health benefit. Senara's mission is to preserve beloved dairy traditions while fundamentally transforming how milk is produced, with a collaborative approach towards dairy companies, farmers, and investors.
The dairy industry is one of the most resource-intensive sectors in global food production, and cell-based milk offers a path to meaningful disruption without asking consumers to change what they eat or drink. Senara's approach is scientifically credible and commercially intuitive – bringing real milk to people through a process that eliminates the environmental and animal welfare issues associated with conventional dairy farming. We believe the team has the right combination of scientific depth and product vision to lead this category in the European market.
Svenja: Senara makes real milk, grown from cells, not cows. We deliver identical taste and functionality without the cost, volatility, or ethics of animal farming.
Svenja: We're saving dairy by rebuilding it from the ground up to become the new standard of milk production. Senara replaces the environmental impact of livestock by using scalable cell cultivation. With >90% reduction in CO2, decreased land, and water use, a stable supply, we are future-proofing the $900B dairy industry without asking consumers to change what they love.
Svenja: We started Senara because we wanted to make sure, science does not just end up in a book. With dairy intolerances running in the family, we wanted to leverage our background in cell biology and engineering to show that milk doesn't need cows, just cells. So we built a company to prove it.
Svenja: The startup journey of being one of only 5 cell-cultivated milk companies worldwide, in a nascent, highly regulated industry ensures that we have encountered about every obstacle, a startup could ever encounter. But we did not sign up for smooth sailing, we signed up to change the world for the better. If it were easy, it would have been done before.
Svenja: From strategy to hiring to industry access, they actively help solve the hard problems that determine whether we scale or stall, while leaving us enough freedom to operate in the company's best interest. We are lucky to have found such amazing partners.
Svenja: They show up. Not as spectators, but by your side. PiC has helped us to grow as founders, challenge our assumptions, and sharpen our focus to build something that actually survives the real world. Thank you for being there for us from the start.
